World of Hyatt Award Chart Changes: Behind the Numbers

  • Post category:HOME / NEWS & STORIES
  • Post last modified:March 3, 2024

The World of Hyatt, one of my favorite hotel programs, has announced not-so-exciting updates regarding annual award chart changes. While it’s not overly concerning, the adjustment involves more properties increasing their points requirements than decreasing. It’s crucial to understand how this may impact your travel plans.

Starting March 26, 2024, certain hotels will see changes in the points required for a free night. There’s no need to panic; there won’t be any new categories introduced, and the points for each category will remain the same. You will follow the existing award chart if you make your reservation before March 26. Nevertheless, reservations made or changed after that date will be subject to the updated chart. Stay informed so that your travel arrangements reflect these changes.

In a Nutshell:

Nobody enjoys witnessing devaluation, especially not on the scale of recent actions by Turkish ‘Miles&Smiles‘ program. While not as drastic, it’s still disheartening to see some properties affected. The annual ‘world of hyatt‘ award chart updates impact 183 hotels globally. This means approximately 75% of the hotels (137 out of 183) are moving up in categories, and about 25.14% (46 out of 183) are moving down. World of Hyatt members should take note of these changes, especially in relation to existing and future reservations. It’s important to highlight that these updates do not influence standard point values for categories and all-inclusive resorts. Members seeking more detailed information can refer to the FAQs on the World of Hyatt website.
